USAGSO COOKIE PROGRAM RESTRICTIONS

Digital Cookie Sales Restrictions

The USAGSO Digital Cookie program comes with unique restrictions to our members living overseas. Please be aware of these before using the digital cookie platform.

Customer Uploads: Do not upload potential customers into Digital Cookie. Due to international privacy laws, USAGSO members outside of the U.S. Virgin Islands are prohibited from uploading customers into the system. Members who violate this restriction may have their digital cookie site inactivated.

MobileApp: Girl Scouts can use the Digital Cookie Mobile App to place and review orders. When selecting how the customer would like to receive their cookies, “Give cookies to customer now” should only be selected if you are handing the cookies to the customer at the time of transaction. Girl Scouts and troops participating only in the digital cookie program do not have cookies to hand to a customer and should not select this option.

In-person Sales Restrictions

USAGSO operates a limited Cookie Program, which is restricted to sales on U.S. military installations in Asia, Europe, Guantanamo Bay and Bahrain, as well as in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa and U.S. Embassies in Cairo, Tokyo, Lisbon, Frankfurt, North Athens, Madrid, Sarajevo and Pristina.

The cookie program is limited to these locations for a variety of reasons, but mainly due to the restrictions around the importation and sale of American food products outside of the United States. Consequently, Girl Scout cookies are only sold at these locations and cannot be sold in the economy.

At USAGSO, Girl Scout cookies are only sold in booths in U.S. military installations and approved U.S. Embassies. Rules and regulations that govern the ability to provide this program restrict door-to-door, “pre-order” or individual girl selling.

The aforementioned rules and regulations do not apply to our members in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa. Please check the sale dates on our website for more information.

Selling cookies on the economy is forbidden. It is in violation of the  agreement under which cookies are brought into the overseas locations.  Selling cookies on the local economy puts your girls at risk for being stopped by the local police officials and puts the entire Girl Scout Cookie Program at risk for future sales.  Please stress this with your girls and parent/guardian/adult volunteers. This restriction does not apply to our members in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa.
