Fueling Girl Scouts’ Passion for STEM and Motorsports in Asia
USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) is excited to announce two STEMinist Speedster programs happening during Girl Scout Week in March 2026. In collaboration with the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Girl Scouts of Japan and Hong Kong International School, USAGSO will help girls get hands-on with STEM in two exciting locations. The programs will take place in both Hong Kong and Tokyo, bringing Girl Scouts from across the region together to explore the science, technology, engineering and math behind modern transportation- while celebrating the power of girls in STEM.
Designed to inspire curiosity and confidence, the event will feature hands-on engineering challenges, like building and painting a solar-powered car, manufacturing a balloon-powered car in an assembly line and imagining a car of the future with a Lego® car design.
“Girl Scout Week is a time to celebrate what girls can achieve when encouraged to dream big and lead boldly,” said USAGSO Executive Director, Kelly Bullard. “Partnering with the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Girl Scouts of Japan and Hong Kong International School allows us to create a truly global STEM experience, showing girls that their talents can take them anywhere.”
These automotive STEMinist events reflect USAGSO’s commitment to developing globally minded leaders and expanding access to high-impact STEM opportunities. By connecting with Girl Scouts of Japan and the Hong Kong International School, the program will foster cultural exchange while reinforcing a shared message: girls belong in automotive engineering, in motorsports and in shaping the technologies of tomorrow.
