Kaiserslautern, Germany – Robots, coding, and Girl Scout spirit filled the room this fall as USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) hosted its first-ever robotics-focused STEMinist session in Germany. More than 70 Girl Scouts gathered for a three-hour, hands-on adventure- building, coding, and even taking home their very own robots.
This milestone event was more than just fun- it was the first time Girl Scouts got to experience STEM in-person through the STEMinist program. Girls earned a special STEMinist fun patch while also completing requirements for the Programming Robots badges, proving that teamwork, creativity, and a little Girl Scout determination can power up big achievements.
“For many girls, this was their very first time holding and coding a robot,” said Taryn Rimland, USAGSO Program & Adult Development Manager. “You could see the excitement and confidence grow with movement and connection, and every wheel that started to spin. It was STEM magic, Girl Scout style.”
