STEM Spotlight: Connecting Girl Scouts Around the World

Girl Scout Cadette, Emma P., lives in western North Carolina on a small farm with her family. She loves nature and spending time outside with her pets. “I love being able to go outside and see nature all around me!” Emma says.
Emma also loves baking and building with LEGOS®. Emma’s favorite recipe that she has ever baked is pumpkin spice donuts. “They are perfect, fresh out of the oven on a cool autumn day!”

“My favorite Girl Scout badge I’ve earned is the Brownie Pets Badge. I learned so much and was able to donate some pet toys to a local shelter too. I started doing USAGSO’s STEMinist program in 2021 and have participated ever since. It’s so great to explore new careers in STEM with girls all over the world!”
Last year, Emma was inspired to create a magazine about animals and plants native to North Carolina after meeting Caeley Looney, aerospace engineer and founder of Reinvented Magazine, during a virtual STEMinist session.
