Girl Scout Fees Increase Effective April 1

Dear USA Girl Scouts Overseas Members,
Thank you for your continued dedication to the Girl Scout Movement. Together, we are empowering today’s girls to lead with courage, confidence, and character. We want to inform you of upcoming changes to membership dues and council service fees, effective April 1, 2025 (MY26).
These adjustments are necessary to sustain and enhance the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, ensuring all members continue to benefit from the unique opportunities Girl Scouting provides.
What’s Changing?
- Council Service Fee: Beginning in MY26, USAGSO will increase the council service fee to $30 per girl membership. These fees directly support USAGSO operations, allowing us to provide robust programs, improved resources, and financial assistance to families in need.
- Membership Dues: As decided during the 57th Special National Council Session, girl membership dues will increase to $65 over a two-year period. The increase will be phased in as follows: $45 in MY26 and $65 in MY27. Adult membership dues will also increase to $30 starting in MY26. These dues are received by Girl Scouts of the USA, our national organization. You can also see the chart below that highlights these changes.
These measures will allow us to:
- Expand program opportunities for girls, including camp and in-person programming.
- Strengthen volunteer support and resources, such as building on our in-person support to volunteers and providing programs like the Girl Scout Experience Box.
- Ensure equitable access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, including financial assistance for volunteers and families.
We understand that these changes may pose challenges for some members. To help offset costs, USAGSO will cover the cost of background checks for all adults requiring screenings between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026. USAGSO will also continue to provide financial assistance to families for memberships and girl programming.
