If you are looking for a way to support the groundswell of youth activism happening globally and increase your involvement with the Girl Scout Movement, the please consider volunteering with the USA Girl Scouts Overseas Gold Award Committee.
By taking moment to reflect on the current state of the world and the images of those standing up to lead, the words from the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low, “The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers” have never rang more true. Young people taking action to create positive, sustainable change is nothing new to Girl Scouting. For decades Girl Scouts’ Highest Awards have been the cornerstone of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), with the ultimate honor of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. Since the creation of the Golden Eaglet in 1916, the award we now know as the Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scouts have been working to make important and sustainable impacts in communities around the world.
Girl Scouts are awesome, ambitious, and sensitive to the needs and challenges of their communities. Joining the USAGSO Gold Award Committee will give you the opportunity to help our changemakers develop and use their talents, skills, passion, and drive to reach gold!
USA Girl Scouts Overseas is looking for innovative and enthused adult volunteers to join our Gold Award Committee to review, advise, and mentor Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts on their journey to earning gold.
- have experience guiding Girl Scouts to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award;
- have worked with youth and provided constructive feedback;
- want to play a larger role in the movement to build women of courage, confidence, and character;
- have said “yes” to any or all of these points, then volunteering with the USA Girl Scouts Overseas Gold Award Committee is the right fit for you!
