Month of the Military Child is a special opportunity to celebrate military children. These amazing kids are strong, brave, proud, and global. We celebrate their selflessness and sacrifice as they serve our country as part of a military family, not just in April, but all year long. In honor of our military Girl Scouts, USAGSO is offering a full month of FREE programs! Use this flyer to share these free programs with your community, friends and family are welcome.
Thanks to the generous support of Apex Clean Energy, USA Girl Scouts Overseas is proud to provide military families residing overseas with one free patch per girl member who registers for any of our Month of the Military Child programs.
From February 16 – March 3, 2024, Girl Scouts Overseas are invited to help design a brand new Month of the Military Child patch! Head here for more information.
Here’s what’s in store this April!

USAGSO Celebrates Month of the Military Child: Taste the World — DFAC BFAST
Saturday, April 13
During this session, Staff Sargent Ricardo Cabrera and some of his teammates will introduce us to a military staple — the DFAC breakfast. The dining facilities administration center (DFAC for short) is often refered to as a mess hall or chow hall. While chow halls aren't usually known for their fine dining or gourmet meals, many soliders report that DFAC breakfast is reliably decent. Staff Sargent Cabrera will help us all whip-up a filling chow hall-style breakfast, complete with eggs, bacon, and pancakes!
