Honor Juliette, Troop, and Community

The Honor Troop and Honor Community Awards were established by USA Girl Scouts Overseas in 2018 to recognize troops and overseas communities that make Girl Scouting an exceptional experience, setting themselves apart as role models. The Honor Juliette Award was established in 2022 to recognize our exceptional Individually Registered Girls and their Juliette Mentors.

Honor Juliette Patch

Honor Juliette Award

Honor Juliette can be earned by Individually Registered Girls (IRGs) and their Juliette Mentors for completing an exemplary Girl Scout year. To earn the Honor Juliette Award, IRGs and their mentors must meet the requirements listed below. Once the award requirements have been met, Juliette Mentors may submit their applications online between 1 May – 30 June.   

Every IRG will receive an Honor Juliette patch and Juliette Mentors will receive a special Honor Juliette gift.


Honor T

Honor Troop Award

Honor Troop can be earned by girls and troop leaders who are part of an exemplary Girl Scout Troop. To earn the Honor Troop Award, troops must meet the requirements listed below. Once the award requirements have been met, troop leaders may submit their applications online between 1 May – 30 June.

Every Girl Scout registered in an Honor Troop will receive an Honor Troop patch or rocker and Troop Leaders will receive a special Honor Troop gift.


Honor C

Honor Community Award

Honor Community can be earned by Girl Scouts and OCMT members who are part of an exemplary Overseas Community.  To earn the Honor Community Award, overseas communities must meet the requirements listed below. Once award requirements have been met, Overseas Committee Chairs or designated Overseas Committee Management Team members may submit their applications online between 1 May – 30 June. 

Honor B

Every Girl Scout registered in an Honor Community will receive the Honor Community patch and OCMT members will receive a special Honor Community gift. Custom Honor Community patches may be ordered at an additional cost. If interested, please request an estimate for the custom patch on your application. 


Applications

Online applications open on 1 May:

Applications will be accepted from 1 May – 30 June each year. Applications will be reviewed and awarded within 14 days of submission. Awards will be shipped as soon as possible following notification of the award.


Honor Requirements/Criteria

Honor Juliette
  1. At least one registered Juliette (IRG) and one registered Juliette Mentor (adult)
  2. Complete required gsLearn training:
    1. USAGSO 101
    2. Volunteer Toolkit – Individual Registered Girl (IRG) Caregiver View
    3. IRG Mentor Training
    4. Overseas Updates
  3. Planning meeting at the start of the year
  4. Observe at least one Girl Scout celebration
  5. Raise awareness about Girl Scouting in your community
  6. Make new friends
  7. Earn three badges or five petals
  8. Complete one Journey and Take Action project
  9. Complete at least one badge, Journey, or other programs in each of the following areas:
    1. Financial Literacy
    2. STEM
    3. Outdoor
  10. Plan or participate in one overnight experience

Honor Troop
  1. At least two active, registered Troop Leaders and eight active, registered girl members
  2. Host at least two parent meetings
  3. Complete required gsLearn training:
    1. USAGSO 101
    2. Successful Leader Learning Series
    3. Volunteer Toolkit – Troop Leader View
    4. Overseas Updates
  4. CPR and First Aid Certification
  5. Planning meeting at the start of the year
  6. Observe at least one Girl Scout celebration
  7. Earn three badges or five petals
  8. Complete one Journey and Take Action project
  9. Complete at least one badge, Journey, or other programs in each of the following areas:
    1. Financial Literacy
    2. STEM
    3. Outdoor
  10. Plan or participate in one overnight experience

Honor Community
  1. At least three active, registered OCMT members
  2. Meet 100% of community membership goal
  3. Host at least two recruitment events
  4. Complete required OCMT training:
    1. OCMT 101
    2. Successful OCMT Learning Series
    3. Position Training (available for OCC, Recruiter, Registrar, Secretary, and Treasurer)
    4. Overseas Updates
  5. One new or sustained partnership
  6. Raise awareness about Girl Scouting in your area
  7. Nominate at least one volunteer for an adult award
  8. Complete your end-of-year report
  9. Plan at least one event or community activity in each of the following areas:
    1. Financial Literacy
    2. STEM
    3. Outdoor
  10. Host an overnight experience
