USAGSO-West Pacific

The USAGSO-West Pacific office opened in 1953 and is located on Camp Zama, Japan, with a satellite office in Okinawa.  The USAGSO-West Pacific team supports programming for military families in mainland Japan, South Korea, and Okinawa.  West Pacific-supported programs are offered through Department of Defense schools on military installations within the region.

The staff team provides support through volunteer-led Overseas Committees that provide direct services to girls, the volunteers who work with them, and their local communities.  The team provides the following services:

  • Consultation services and ongoing technical assistance

  • Learning opportunities for adult volunteers including onboarding, virtual and in-person training, and self-guided learning resources

  • Regular correspondence and resources including a bi-monthly newsletter

  • Program resources for girls, parents, and volunteers

  • Girl Scout shop and online access to Girl Scout merchandise

  • Annual summer resident camp and travel opportunities for girls

  • Access to peer-to-peer networks

  • Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award support
