USAGSO community camps are hosted by local USAGSO volunteers and supported by USAGSO to ensure quality Girl Scouting programing. And, most exciting, these camps are open to ALL members of USA Girl Scouts Overseas!

Come join USA Girl Scouts Overseas in Beijing for our annual STEM day event! Saturday, March 14 (Pi Day!) 2020, we will be hosting Girl Scouts for an afternoon of Design Challenges, Space Science and Cybersecurity. Girls from Daisy - Ambassador will be working on one Girl Scout badge during the event and we will also have several hands-on science activities available and light refreshments. Girl Scouts of all levels, from Daisy through Ambassador, are welcome to join the Naples Girl Scout Community for fun and adventure at our annual Camporee May 1-3, 2020 at Carney Park, one of Europe’s most unique parks located within an extinct volcanic crater. The theme for this year’s Camporee is still being decided by the Girl Scouts, but we can promise days brimming with activity and fun and evenings with songs, skits, s’mores, and camping. Our goal is for the girls to earn at least one age level badge. If we can’t get them there, then we hope to get them most of the way where they’d just have some off site activities to complete back at home or at a troop meeting.

Summary

KMC Girl Scout Day Camp theme will be Beneath the Stars and will be held June 10-14, 2020.  Wednesday through Friday we will focus on learning all about astrology, range activities, and Girl Scout values through various stations.  Examples of those stations include STEAM, leave no trace, archery, knots and lashings, and sling shot.  On Saturday, we will have all of our campers come to a campground for an overnight camping experience to learn all about camping, box ovens, geocaching, and lots of other fun activities.  Throughout camp we will earn many official badges along with the journey Think Like a Citizen Scientist.  Girls going into 1st - 6th grade will be able to participate in camp.  Girls going into 7th -9th grade have the opportunity to earn their PA pin by coming to training prior and volunteering at camp.  Girls going into 10th - 12th grade will be able to earn their Service to Girl Scouting Bar through volunteering.  Registration will open April 1st and will close May 3rd.  For more information email kmcgsdaycamp@gmail.com, or follow us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/kmcdaycamp/

Summary

The event focuses on STEM, outdoor, and life skill activities to include time management, teamwork, team building, land navigation, hiking, map reading, identifying various terrain features, first aid training, outdoor photo scavenger hunt, observation of the moon and stars, design a water filtration and purifying system, and problem solving skills by participating in a team obstacle course.

 

Older Troops will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles by leading the younger troops through each event while taking the leading role as aspiring Girl role models for the younger to emulate.

The following badges and journeys will be implemented in this program: STEM Journey; High Adventure badge, Space Science badge, Photographer badge, Environmental Stewardship badge, Global Action Award activity, Amaze and Take Action Journey.
