Do you dream about working at Camp Lachenwald someday? Are you looking for leadership opportunities and want to build your resume? Do you want to serve as a role model and mentor for younger Girl Scouts? You can do all that while earning your Counselor-in-Training (CIT) award!
Girls entering grades 10 through 12, interested in a future job as a camp counselor or who want to expand their leadership skills may participate in our Counselors in Training summer leadership experience. CITs are girls who assist in all areas of summer programming. CITs assist leading group games, "all-camp" activities, hikes, nature activities, camper interest groups, campfire songs, and many other duties.
The CIT leadership program creates a progression that prepares Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts for roles in youth leadership in and outside of camp. Although much of the time at camp will be focused on the CIT curriculum, girls will have the opportunity to participate in other camp activities. CITs selected for the program receive a 50% discount on Camp Lachenwald program fees along with presentation of the CIT pin at the end of the camp session.
